Happy MothersBirthBreastVersaryDay

What a great weekend we had. We went to Salt Lake on Saturday and walked for breast cancer (those pictures to come). We walked for one of our long time friends Meredith and her family and for all the others in our families. Our next walk is the Diabetes walk in August so anyone that wants to come, come on! Then we went and Todd climbed the rock wall for his birthday. Which he has never done but wanted too. Mom and Todd share the same birthday so we celebrate them together along with Mothers Day and breasts every year. If that isn't enough going on our Anniversary falls in between everything. Yes two years has come and gone. It has been great. We decided to get a new TV (pictured below). It is nice to have and is really great for ESPN! And then I woke up to flowers. :) Were going this weekend to get massages and go out to dinner, so all in all its been an awesome week! So in no particular order - to Mom, I love you. You are amazing and I couldn't have asked for a better roll model. Hope your birthday and mothers day were awesome. To Todd, I love you. You are a sexy beast and I couldn't imagine having anyone else in my life, here's to 60 more years :) I hope everyone else had a great day!

Ill get better at this... :)

Ok I know it has been a month since I posted last and I'm sorry. Things have been crazy and I totally lost all track of time but I will do better (Jon said I had too) Its funny how at times we take relationships for granted. We just got back from my Granny's funeral in Oklahoma last week. I haven't had many losses in my almost 29 years of life, but in the last year or so I have lost my Grandma, a couple months ago my Uncle Donald, and then last week my Granny. It was a beautiful service and she looked so good. My Dad did an excellent job speaking and singing as well as my Mom and Uncle Gary. It was a nice time to reflect on her life and what an amazing woman she was. I know that she is up there dancing and singing. We love her and the spirit that she left in us all. Here are some pictures of everyone at the resort we stayed at in Oklahoma. It was such an awesome setting and we owe it all to Darin (he was mad he wasn't getting any props) But it was nice to be together and spend some time with each other even under these circumstances. I know Granny would have wanted us laughing and making memories.

In an unrelated note the Jayhawks are hands down the most amazing team I have ever seen and I was sooo happy they won the National Championship! It was the best game I have ever seen, I was sweating bullets and screaming but I had the faith! Rock Chalk baby!

EASTER!

We love holidays at our house, we even celebrate stuff you really don't, but it is always fun. At Easter we have a kind of tradition that we have been doing for a long time where the "Easter Bunny" hides the baskets all over the house and you have to search high and low to find it. It has always been fun but the last couple of years we have added a twist. Now the bunny hides about 100 eggs or so, around the house and outside. We all start at one point in the basement and then someone yells go and we take off like crazy people. No one was injured this year but last year we had some blood and torn clothing! The trick is you cant take any eggs until you find your basket. The reason these eggs are w wanted item is that there is a dollar in all of the eggs and then one big money egg for each person. It is so much fun and watching everyone run like jack rabbits is the best. The bunny hid my basket up underneath the air hockey table this year, sly bunny! And also got creative by taping the big eggs to things that you could never see. It took awhile this year but we all found the eggs and baskets and actually 2 eggs from last year! Thank you again to the bunny, it was a lot fun and we have a video, may be coming soon....

Dad and Todd also got new fly poles and were practicing out in the back. It was really cute to watch Dad teach him, and it will be a great escape for them. Between fishing and the new golf hobby the guys should be set for the summer, which leaves the girls more time to shop!

I Love March...

Its that time again people, March Madness, so I hope everyone has their bracketts up to date and ready to roll. For those of you that havent been checking scores very 15 minutes, KU kicked trash again and I have to beilieve this is their year... Rock Chalk Baby. Now I do however, live in a divided house. My husband is 100% UCLA (no comment) so this time of the year is really our only time of disagreement which sometimes leads to biting! Good luck to everyone!!!

Way to go cuz...

The last 2 weeks have been jam packed, some stuff I will leave off the blog because I don't want it in print for all to see :) There have been some good things and some sad things, but our family did have a good piece of news come our way last night. Creed was born weighing 7 15 and was 20 inches long. Jon is so excited and mom and baby are doing well. We are happy for them and congrats on the new addition!
We also got exciting news on Todd's side of the family. Tammi (Todd's sister) found out she is pregnant with number 5. We are happy for her, especially since she has such cute kids! :) Congrats Tam, cant wait to have you visit again!

My Man

Ok, I normally do not like Valentines Day, but I cant tell you how much easier it is when you are married! We had a wonderful night (Ill spare all the details for my Dads sake) :) but I thought what better place to brag about my husband, where he will probably never see it! I was thinking about it on this special day of roses and chocolate, that I am lucky to have Todd way more than just this one day a year. Looking back over the last oh 7 years I have known him, he still manages to suprise and amaze me. What more could I ask for than a man that lets me style his hair however I want, gives me full body massages, does the dishes, cleans the houses, makes the bed, cleans the cars, goes out every morning before I go to work and starts my car so it is warm for me, helps me when I dont even ask, has a wonderful personality and is always trying to make me laugh, is courteous, kind, has a good heart, is good to my family and mother, always uses his manners, always says thank you for dinner no matter what it was, and most of all treats me with respect. I could go on, which I am sure no one wants me to do! But I did want to take this opportunity to say that I am lucky, grateful, and very much love my husband!

Have you ever laughed so hard that you may have accidently tee teed in your pants. Well last week I think a couple of us lost a few teaspoons in our pants. Candace is trying out for Deal or No Deal and we had to do a video to send in so we thought it would be funny to dress the boys up as the models, I was Howie, Candace was obviously the contestant , and mom was the on stage helper. We acted out the whole thing perfectly and I think Candace is going to put the video on her blog, but I have to say it was absolutely hilarious. You gotta love my family!!!

Home Improvements

Well we have been changing the house around a little bit and decided to re-do the guest room. Of course money IS an object - but its beginning to feel more like home all the time. We added a little to the master too and hope to have the house done completely in a couple months. Todd said I am almost out of things to "need" but trust me there are always more things to "need" :)

Happy New Year!

OK, I know that it is like the 20th of January but since I have just started this blogging thing I thought I was entitled to put on a Happy New Year post! We had a great little pajama party at the house with mom and dad, with food, games, fireworks, and noise!

I think that the new year is a great time to reflect and set goals-not resolutions-but goals. I like looking back over the year and realizing the blessings I have and actually taking the time to be thankful for those blessings. Its something that everyone should do (not just because its a new year). I am happy, healthy, and have a wonderful husband and family; what more could I ask for. I hope this new year brings everyone the desires of their hearts!

Awesome Poem

"Hope" is the thing with feathers—
That perches in the soul—
And sings the tune without the words—
And never stops—at all—
And sweetest—in the Gale—is heard—
And sore must be the storm—
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm—
I've heard it in the chillest land—
And on the strangest Sea—
Yet, never, in Extremity,
It asked a crumb—of Me.

Emily Dickinson
