Naomi Ruth Sherratt born 1/21/2012 at 7:58am. She was 7 pounds 4 ounces and 19.5 inches long. A lot of black hair and dark eyes. It was a cake surgery compared to Layla's and everything went great. She is so sweet and we are beyond excited to have her here now!

We had a great Christmas this year and Layla was so excited for Santa! We played games and ate Christmas Eve and then did our traditional present openings. Both kids loved tearing open theirs and any other present they could get their hands on. That night we finally got Layla to sleep around two, too much sugar and excitement. The next morning we had church at 9 and jumped up to put our Christmas dress on and then came home to see Santa. Layla and I woke up to some very pretty flowers that Santa had left for us and she couldn't wait to get downstairs. Santa brought her a new kitchen with all the trimmings. She was so excited. She made cookies and then got down on her tummy to lick the beaters :) Santa brought me all new down bedding, pillows, comforter, and some really pretty glass oils and soaps for the bathroom. (In anticipation of being in bed for a week or so I think) Very thoughtful Santa! We changed and went to Mom and Dads for everyone else Santa. Todd got a new BBQ Grill that does propane and charcoal which will be great come Spring. Layla got a tent from Gammy and Grandad and loves it and as you can see everyone took a nap before dinner! It was a great Christmas and we cant wait til next year...Layla already asked me how many more Sunday's til Ho Ho comes :)

Daddy/Daughter Fun and Gingerbread Houses

We had a fun week. Todd took Layla to ride some stuff at the mall (cars, carrousel, bus), see Santa, but he was too big so we gave him a high five and got our coloring book. And to ride the big train which she has been waiting forever for! She had a great time and said "thank you Daddy" when our afternoon was done :) The next day Wes came into town and we had a Gingerbread House contest. It was fun and really messy. I put up a picture of the winning house...oh yeah its ours :) Layla ate almost all of our candy but it is a good Christmas tradition...one more week!!!

Getting ready for Christmas has been so fun; We went to the light parade and watched Santa come in. Layla loved all the lights and we were totally freezing! But it was worth it. We put up the trees and Layla had about 30 ornaments in a 6 inch circle but she sang the whole time. And of course what would a day be like without a little dancing on the Wii :) Were excited for the big day and were trying to get her to see Santa this week...fingers crossed!

Well we had a great Thanksgiving, Mamaw and Papaw came and stayed with us and we ate and played games all week, Layla loved seeing them and is still asking if they are here! We have been doing some Christmas stuff and getting ready for baby to come :) We finished Layla's new room which turned out great. Its a really cute shabby chic theme and Todd spent a lot of time on it. The tree on the wall with the window was a great idea and Todd and Dad each painted her a bird. Todd refinished the dresser and mirror and I found the daybed and bedding online. She always says its so pretty :)And besides that we got our first snow which meant that Layla and Banana were outside building a snowman and of course Layla ate his face :) Things are great and I will try to stay more on top of this thing!!!

Well Layla loves Halloween! She says it non-stop so we did as many fun things as we could think of. We went up to Witchfest at Gardner Village and she got a spider on her face which was an ordeal when it came off :) We went to the Halloween party, did the Trick-or-Treating on Main St, made ghost cookies, painted pumpkins, and finally went through the neighborhood Monday night. It was so cute seeing her walk to the door by herself and not stop knocking til they answered. She loved saying trick-or-treat and of course the candy! She was the cutest chicken Ive ever seen :)

The Zoo, The Pumpkin Patch, & Some Randoms

It has been a great beginning to Fall (which is my favorite season) We went to the Zoo which was a lot of fun. Layla loved the Elephants and Giraffes. Then we went to the pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin and they had a petting zoo, corn pool, hay maze and ride, and of course pumpkins :) She loved every minute of it and got to feed a kangaroo and reindeer (I know random animals) But it was a lot of fun for the family. We are excited to go to the Witch Village next week :)

GIRL!!!! We found out lat week we are having another little girl and couldn't be happier. Layla will be such a good big sister and she is excited to know whats in there :) Everything was right where it should be and the her leg length is 2 weeks ahead of the rest of her body...go figure! Sorry it has been so long, before I knew it August was gone, the summer has just flown by. Things have been rolling along and we have been re-doing a lot of the rooms for the new baby. I will post Layla's new room as we go but we have all been great. Layla got a new bike and helmet that she loves and washes it whenever Todd washes the cars. She is getting so big!!! We find out this week what sex the baby is so I will post that also. Layla is going with us so it should be fun! Until then...

These are just some fun pictures we've taken over the last week. We took Layla ice skating for the first time and she kind of liked it. Loved it, then people went by her fast and she was done then she would see me or Todd out there and wanted to go again. I think the next time will be more consistent. :) But she looked so cute in her skates! More activities and pictures to come...

We had a fun 4th of July with family and friends. Played games, ate a ton, set off fireworks, and just spent time together. Layla went nuts over sparklers :) We have been loving the summer too, Layla discovered the sprinklers and still loves the pool, we also got her a new big girl princess bed so she can be ready when the new baby comes. She loves laying in it, reading books, and taking naps on it. But we are still working on her sleeping in it through the night, she thinks its more for play than anything else. I figured we would get the big girl bed out of the way and then work on the big girl potty :) Things are staying busy and we are excited for company to be here in a couple weeks...

Summer has been fun-filled so far and Layla is loving the pass to the pool. Todd's Dad (Papaw) came to visit for a week and the boys re-did the garage. They built shelves and work benches and all kinds of stuff...thanks Jim for your hard work, we loved having you! We have just been relaxing and enjoying the weather. More news to come!!!

This past weekend we went to the Homestead Resort for our 5 year anniversary. It was a lot of fun and nice to get away. Erick came up to meet us so that he and Todd could go play 18 holes on their championship course and then we did a lot of walking through the trails, concert in the park, swimming, eating, and just relaxing. Todd made Layla a fort in the room and they played a lot...Todd fell asleep in it! Our room was nice and the view was great. It was a lot of fun and we cant wait to go again!

It has been a fun couple weeks. Brianne and I took Layla and Devi to the blowup, bouncy castle, slide place. It was a lot of fun and the kids loved it. They played together for hours and the one time I didnt have my camera ready Devi leaned over and gave Layla a kiss. He tried to do it again for me to get a picture and Layla took off running...hopefully she will stay like that til she is 30 :) Todd and I also celebrated our 5th Anniversary and he got me those flowers. We are going to a golf resort for the weekend so that will be fun too! And of course I had to put some pictures of Miss Thing!!! She is amazing and we love her more each day. She is talking up a storm and we cant ever seem to get her to come inside. We have resorted to turning on the sprinklers since she hates rain on her head...hey it works!

We decided to do a brownish red color bark mulch in the beds and it ended up looking really nice. Thanks to Dad for the help and Layla :) Oh and that picture with Layla and Dad and Layla is walking off was pretty funny. He was loading the mulch and dropped some down her shirt, she walked off shaking her finger at him and said "no no Granddad". She's something! I think our next two projects for the yard will be the garden and eventually a fence. I would like a big deck but well see! Ill put up the finished picture after Todd mows. Layla and Beckett did their first duo bath which went well, I'm sure there will be more dirty bath water in the future. Everyone is great and life is good...couldn't ask for more!

Easter Trip To California and Vegas!

We went to California last week for Pa's funeral and Easter weekend. It was a nice service and nice to see family. We got there Saturday and didnt know they were having Easter dinner so all the egg hunt pictures are in travel clothes and pj's :) But Layla loved finding eggs with her cousins. Layla loved Ma's backyard with all of the orange trees and chickens and we had a hard time getting her back in the car. On the way home we decided to split the trip and Papaw and Terri were very generous and hooked us up at the Bellagio with a great room and good food. Layla loved the Atrium and the lights and water show. We hit some luck on the slots and had a good time. Thanks for all of the hospitality. See everyone again soon!

Spring Time

We love Spring and being outside. I went and bought Layla some gardening tools to help Todd in the yard, which she loves. I cant wait to take her to the pool this summer. She has also learned that stacking things make it easier to climb...anywhere; but especially the pantry! We are having a great time watching her grow :)

Layla loves mornings; gets up and turns on the IPod, cleans her ears with Q-Tips, and tortures Buddy! She loves looking at Candace's cat (through glass only, of course). She had a great time with Corey's kids while they were here for Beckett's blessing and said Emma (their daughter) nonstop the whole weekend. But the blessing was nice and it was a good time and good burritos!

Layla is getting so big and doing so many new things and talking up a storm! Her new favorite thing is when she gets an owie (real or not) she will spank whatever hurt her and tell it no no and to be nice. Its really funny to watch. She is doing a lot of things on her own and has learned how to unscrew lids which is a whole new thing. She cant stand for trash to not be thrown away immediately so she does it now, mark one thing off my list :) She loves to vacuum with Todd and has learned about 8 new signs which helps me out a lot to figure out what she needs. I love waking up in the morning just to see what she will do!

Layla has been so good with Beckett and soft with Gammy and is walking and saying and doing things she is too little to do (at least to me), were coloring in the tub, she is feeding herself with a spoon and brushing her teeth. And thanks to Aunt Verlinda she loves chicken and noodles and had her first beater of Dirt. She is amazing and I love her so much!

Layla is getting so big, she is crawling at warp speed everywhere and is pulling herself up and walking around things, waving and kissing like crazy and has even started to copy words. She is so amazing and we love her more than anything...but slow down :) She went sledding last week and loves the snow, we had to fight to bring her in and Banana is so good to take her outside all the time. We went and saw Santa today which she thought was funny and wouldn't stop waving, Ill put more pics of that on later.We are blessed!

We blessed Layla Sunday and it was so wonderful. Todd did an excellent job and Layla was nice and quiet for him! We had about 50 people at the church and about 60 back at the house for lunch. It was great to see how many people love and support Layla. Thank you to everyone who came and helped with the lunch, and especially to those of you that came from out of town. Todd's Dad, Tami, Brooke, and kids, and Sally who drove from California to be here, we loved and appreciate it! It was a memorable day and of course Layla looked beautiful in the dress her Daddy picked out for her. She is getting so big and we love her more every minute :)

Happy Mothers Day to everyone. It was a great first for me. Todd and Layla made me breakfast and I had 2 dozen roses waiting on the table. It was so nice. And to my mom, I love you! Layla has found her tongue, her reflection in her swing mobile, and got her first set of shots but as you can see is still smiling! She is being blessed next Sunday so we decided to bring my blessing dress out and try it on her, so cute. We look a lot alike...Ill post my old pic with one from Sunday. 1 Month Old and a Happy Easter!

Layla is one month old and changes everyday, which is crazy to watch! Her first Easter was fun and thank you to Grandma and Gran-dad for the present and to Aunt Margo and Uncle Dennis for the generous eggs, it was fun. It has definitely been a hard month for her but we love her more everyday and she is a tough little girl! Family is in town so there will be more pics next week :)

I just want to start by saying I love her more than I thought I could! She is perfect and we are so excited she is here. We had some close calls along the way but could not be happier. I was having some issues on Tuesday night. I was bleeding, having really bad low contractions, and some other things I wasn't really sure about; and after waiting and wondering we decided at around 3 to go to the hospital. When we got there she wasn't moving or responding to anything and had a straight line on the monitor. My doctor (who is awesome) was quick to decide we needed to get her out asap. They wheeled me in for an emergency C Section and needless to say I was a little freaked out! I was in the room and they decided they didn't have time for an epidural so they needed to do a spinal block. Not knowing really what that meant I waited on the table and did as I was told. They kept trying to insert the needle and they were finding fluid in my back. After 6, yes 6 tries they finally found a spot for the needle and it took effect. That I have to say was oh so so painful, I figured anything after that would be cake! I was a little scared and luckily couldn't see anything they were doing. Todd cam in and sat with me and I could feel pressure but no pain. Then I heard the doctor say she was green. The cord was wrapped around her neck twice and she had "gone" in her fluid because my water had broke so they were holding her head so she wouldn't swallow any of it. I did hear her cry and my heart was racing. They called Todd over and finally after what felt like an eternity I heard her make noise. It was the most overwhelming feeling I have ever had. They took her down to the warmer and the nursery while I was stitched up. Come to find out the placenta had died also so she had been on her own. I finally got to see her and it was amazing. I cant even express how much I love her and how thankful I am for her. She is our little miracle!

Christmas 2009

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, sorry this is a little late but we have been busy at our house. We had a great holiday season and as always it was over too soon. Dad made homemade chocolate pies which were awesome, as all the food was. We had a small program and then opened presents. Reba spent Christmas with us which was nice and then we did Santa the next morning. We draw names and Jason got me and it was so cute because he got the baby a bunch of little hats and socks and onsies. Santa was nice again. I got a really nice blanket for the nursery and a lot of lotions and manicure kit and fat clothes. Todd got new Arnettes, a shop vac, and his favorite gift was a Lakers onsie for the baby and a matching shirt for him for playoff time! Mom and Bri got new Cruisers. Todd had put Bris together and Dad did Moms and we hid them in our basement. They had to come over and get them and ride them home, but once they took off they kept going. Were going to get bikes in the spring so we can all go riding the trails. Part of Todd's Christmas was the Laker / Jazz game. It just so happens that the night before Kobe broke his finger and the next day woke up with the stomach flu so needless to say it wasn't very exciting. But it was fun to be out just the 2 of us and walking to the car after we saw a bunch of drunk Mexican jazz fans knock a cop out in the middle of the street. I love to watch Cops but that was the closest I had been to the action! It was a lot of fun. I wish we had New Year pics but I forgot my camera. We went over to Diane's with all of her family and played games and were very loud! It was a lot of fun. Cant wait for next year!!!

Christmas is here...

Well we put up all the Christmas trees and decorations this week. I love decorating for Christmas. We also did a little bit out front but I cant take pictures until the 2 feet of snow in front of the driveway is gone! Anyway the blue, black, and silver tree is the one we have upstairs. I want you to pay close attention to the bow and streamers...Todd and I made that :) It took a little bit but we figured it out and I love how it looks. The gold, red, and green tree is up downstairs and then we have odds and ends all over the house. Its so much fun this time of year!
Ok, the curtains are a new thing we put in the hearth room and kitchen. We got a killer deal and Todd and Dad put them up, they dress up the upstairs really nicely.
That TV is my black Friday deal :) We wanted another TV upstairs and I didn't want to come home empty handed-ish.
The couch is my Christmas present from Santa (Todd). We had been looking for something upstairs and we really liked this one. It looks very pretty and is comfortable so were happy with it.
And finally some pics of my fat! I apologize for the outfit. I will take cuter ones but when I come home from work I'm almost undressed by the time I get out of the car :) I go straight for sweats! But Ill take more so don't think I look homeless all the time :)
Anyway, life is great, the baby is great, and we are excited for the Holiday Season. More pictures to come!

Our New House!!!

Well we are finally in our new home and we are loving it. It is so nice to be in and call it home. We are almost done moving in so we decided to take some pictures. I will put up some ones of the outside later, but keep in mind we are still a work in progress :) And just in time to have a garage for the first snow! Thanks to everyone that helped us move and unpack...much appreciated! Oh and excuse any tummy pics that might be in the mirrors, its getting harder to hide :)

Well, we went undefeated in the playoffs (4-0) so they made us play the same team back to back since we didn't have a loss and it was double elimination. We played great and were up in the last game but the last inning was not kind and we ended up losing. If you ask everyone there cheering they didn't care because half of their body was frozen solid. Lets just say the cocoa was like chocolate milk within about 20 minutes. We had a fun season and got a rad shirt out of it :) We are looking forward to next season and to dodge ball next month, don't worry I will have pictures!

Trip to Cali

We got to take a trip to California last month; Unfortunately it was because of the passing of Grandpa Sherratt, but it was still good to spend time with his family. The funeral was very nice and it was full of great memories of a great man. We had the opportunity to look at old pictures and hear some great stories, he will be missed!

RMC Softball Baby!

Todd has started softball again this season and there have been some good games. He is playing on Richards (my cousin-in law) team and the last 2 games have been serious smack downs. This one you can see and the one before was 18 to 1. Unfortunately they lost yesterday but next Tuesday is another game! It is a lot of fun to get everyone out to the ball park and next time I will get some pics of our fans :) Keep up the good work guys!

Sorry for the lag. I decided since I was pregnant and working full time it was a good idea to go back to school :) So I have been neglecting this Blog but I will be better. So these are pictures of our last fishing trip in Cedar. It was windy and a little chilly but a good time. Todd caught a 3 1/2 pounder and I caught a couple so it was fun and always good to see the California crew!

Our Montana Trip

We had an exciting time in Montana last week. It was the first time we have all been together (well almost all) since Thanksgiving a couple years ago. It was a lot of fun to be together. We rode ATVs, went fishing, hiking, rafting on the river, made Smores, shot guns, and played games in the cabin. Thank you to those who planned this event and also to Lee and Chris for letting us use the cabin. It was fun spending time together, we need to do it more often!

I cant believe he is gone...a huge piece of my childhood and music history. I know every song and if I'm alone in my room, every dance! I cant tell you how many calls I got in the 15 minutes after his passing. Janae was the first to call and we watched it unfold on TV. That was fitting because we also tried to learn Thriller together :) I have been watching video marathons and tributes and thinking about growing up in his music. He was an amazing entertainer and a innovator for pop music. A definite loss but left his mark on the world.

Kelly Concert

Me, Todd, Brianne, Candace, Mom, and Reba all went to the Kelly concert at UVU a couple weeks ago and it was so much fun. Brianne and I went down in the standing only section (see I'm still young :) on the lawn and watched two girls fight over their blanket spot, which was pretty funny. We jumped and yelled and Candace said they could see us jumping because my hat was white and saw it bobbing up and down. I wont lie and say my legs weren't sore after! It rained which I thought was a nice cool down but Bri was cold. But all the rain made a really pretty double rainbow. It was a good time and she is really good live, cant wait for the next summer concert!
